| ONE BEER I sat and drank the endless beer. A cold dark bottle, it would not warm And could not be drained. Pull after pull, Pull upon pull, Like the epic story, Like the perfect country song, Like the love sonnet that Breaks your heart because you Feel all your lovers at once; I sat and drank the thing, More beer than my drunk father And all my drunk grandfathers ever Touched. And then I put that sucker down full And I walked away. |
