Conjugation of Art

Conjugation of Art

from the "Incarnate" series
1998 © Ian Brand

There are many personal messages in these images
yet they become universal when viewed in public.
And there is ambiguitysince one cannot tell whether
the central figure is rising from or being pulled toward the muddied automobile.
Note the reflection of the woman framed by the wall's dynamic swirls
as if rising from the eternal flame,
even as the woman herself reaches for the masks of art,
contorting her own unself-conscious yet manikin beauty.

Created in Bryce 3D.
